Frosty Ice

I went outside and I found everything covered in ice.

I can See

Two bikes are half frozen in the snow.The snow covers everything with cold ice.

I can Smell

The smell of my hot chips keeps me warm in the snow. The strong air blows hot smoke past me.

I can Hear

The sound of the air blows loudly. Snow is dripping down from the trees. 

I am Thinking

I think I am going to freeze in the cold snow.

I just know I will have fun in the snow.

Origami Cranes

Room 12 are making origami cranes. The cranes are large and small. Everyone was practising making origami cranes at home. Some of us are finished doing our origami cranes, we chose a design to make, some of us hung our cranes up on lines.

Amazing Lizards

A Basilisk lizard can use its tail to balance on water. Geckos have hairs on their toes so they can stick on the ceiling. Dragon lizards can escape from danger with its wings. Lizards can lose their tail when  enemies are attacking them, after the enemy is gone the lizard grows a new tail.

Soccer

This is us practising evading with the soccer coaches in the hall. We had to try and lose our partner and they had to follow you and stay as close as they can.

The Cantankerous Camel

Room 12 have been working hard on our Cantankerous Camels. Some of the Room 12 kids have been working really hard to draw light lines for their camel, then some kids were ready to colour their camels in. They had to colour their camels in tiny circles using pastels to blend the colours. It took a week or two. Then when everyone finished their camels all of the art was done.

Miss Viljoen

Miss Viljoen is our new student teacher in Room 12.It was so exciting when it was Miss Viljoen's birthday because Room 12 got tasty chocolate cake. She is learning about teaching. We are excited to have her in our class.

The Legendary Samurai

One day there was a strong legendary samurai with a flame sword. He has dark black samurai hair with specks of light black. He has grey shiny armour on his chest. With his long sharp flame sword he is unstoppable to anyone who versus him. They will lose. He is the ultimate samurai. He will not be defeated by anyone.

Beware Of The Wanted Teachers

We have been working on our  Wanted posters about teachers at Dawson School. Some teachers are wanted for doing the right thing at the wrong time.We made up nicknames for the  teachers like Superwoman and Crazy Mr P. We have been writing things like what they look like, where they hangout and other stuff like that. We also say what they are wanted for and the reward offered.

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

Reading Books is Fun

 I like Zac Power because it has more words. Zac power is a very funny book with  some super funny jokes.When I read Zac Power I think about becoming Zac Power.

Our Awesome Sea Art

This week Room 12 and Room 11 have been doing art about creatures that live in the sea. There were heaps of different pictures, some of my favourite pictures were of seagulls, crabs and shrimps. Sea creatures can be scared by sea gulls. Sea gulls are hunting dead or alive sea creatures in or out of sea. Most crabs hide under big rocks or a small rock. Shrimps have super fast legs and a small body.

The Awesome Chicks.

On Tuesday we went to science. In science class we got to look after the smelly chicks. They were as fast as a flash, their beaks were as sharp as a knife, they were so naughty that we thought nobody could handle them. Luckily we could hold them. Their skin was so fluffy. We were taking pictures of the chicks, tadpoles and worms. Mr Pattison asked us questions about the chicks and the worms.

Milly McGate has a thick pink jacket. She has a round soft face. Milly McGate has clean teeth. Her face is soft and smooth. She points to the smoking hole.

Wood Storks

The giraffe's group was reading about wood storks. Wood storks are a bird that picks up twigs. It can fly, dive and glide. A wood stork can eat little fish, frogs, crayfish and long snakes.Wood storks have long legs and they have a sharp beak. Male wood storks get twigs for the nests. The females lay eggs in their nest and then one day the baby will hatch out of his or her egg.

Super Paper Art

We drew cartoon pictures and outlined them with vivid. Then we glued strips of paper on our cartoon pictures. To make the background we got a piece of paper and scrunched it up. We layered it with crayon and dyed it.
