FIREWORKS

Fireworks are cool but dangerous. They are colourful like a rainbow. Fireworks go high in the dark sky. They are loud like a shotgun. The smoke smells like burnt food. Fireworks stay in one place when it shoots, then it spreads around in the dark sky. Fireworks are fast like a tiger. Fireworks are sparkly when they are in the sky.

FIREWORKS 2015

Descriptive Writing Practise

We were practising how to describe something. What do you think of the story we made up about kiwis?

The NZ Kiwi

Kiwis have dark brown fur.
They have two little beady black eyes.
The kiwi has a long pointy beak like Pinocchio.
Its small furry wings sit right beneath their necks.
They have little wings like little baby chickens.
No matter how hard they flap their wings they can't fly!

PINK SHIRT DAY

The whole school had a pink shirt day.We had it up in the hall. People wear pink to say it is not okay to bully. We had a parade and you had to dress up in pink. There were prizes to be won. The prizes were onesies, loombands, hand bands and a special digital camera. The person in the most pink will get the digital camera. People went class by class on to the stage to show off what they were wearing.

VULCAN THE POLICE DOG.

Room 12, 11 and 13 saw police men. The police men came to talk about a dog named Vulcan. Vulcan is a german shepherd and is black. The policeman's name was Dan. Vulcan came from a dog college. He went to Dan when he 7 or 8 months old and he will have him working till he is about 13 to 14 years old. Vulcan had to learn how to jump a 2 meter wall. Dan the police man taught Vulcan how to crawl. Police use german shepherds as

Bomb dogs

Drug dogs

Weapon dogs

And money dogs

The dog trainer said he had to have a name starting with the letter V because of when he was adopted. Dan told Vulcan to bite the criminals sleeve. If vulcan spots a criminal and they run away they have 2 options.

Option 1 is to give up option 2 he keeps running away from the  police and if they do the dog will stop them by biting them and pulling them to the ground. German shepherds are very fast at running. they can run up to 65km an hour.

CUTE

Shipwrecks

Shipwrecks are a good place to find gold, copper, silver, bronze and glass. A shipwreck is a ship that has crashed or sunk in oceans and rivers. Sometimes a ship can crash because of massive rocks, something might not be working properly or the parts of the ship might be broken.

People can still die even if it's shallow water because they can go...slip and BANG!!!.

Your ship can still be a shipwreck if it crashed today or back in 1592 or something.

A shipwreck can also be wrecked by bad weather.

A ship has a hull, it's an important part of the ship. If it breaks, then your ship automatically sinks obviously. ( A shipwreck is a ship that crashed right now or a long time ago.) That's all the information we know.
Read this if your interested in shipwrecks.

HOW LONG DOES A TORNADO LAST FOR?

I wonder... how long a tornado lasts for?

A tornado will stop when the cold air and the warm air split up and unmix.

Tornadoes happen in a lot of different countries.

They damage a lot of houses and people can get hurt. Thousands and thousands of people have died during tornadoes. Some people panic when a tornado comes.

Tornadoes can last from several  seconds to more an hour! Most tornadoes last for less than ten minutes
