Swimming

Hi our names are Mele, Jessica and Seluvaia. Today we are talking about swimming. At Dawson school Room 12 have been taking swimming lessons at Otara pools. The coaches were Michael, Sarah and Steve. 

Next week is our last day at swimming we really want to still go there and take swimming lessons from the coaches, they are really good at their jobs and very good swimmers.We go to swimming every Friday in the afternoon at 1.00 pm. First we have our lunch before we go swimming because we have had a whole hour of school work then we have to go swimming. 


One day we learnt about water safety and wearing a life jacket. The coaches taught us how to do a pin drop on a big boat.

Swimming

Hi our names are Jessica, Mele, Seluvaia and Maria. We are talking about swimming. Room 12 have been taking swimming lessons at the community swimming pool. Our coaches were amazing swimmers they taught us everything they know about how to be safe in the water. 

Swimming was a bit fun but we struggled with breathing underwater, we don't need to breath underwater because that will be weird and hard to do. The coaches names were Sarah, Steve and Michael. 

      

Room 12's Hockey lessons

This year Room 12 have been taking hockey lessons. At hockey we are learning to hold the hockey stick. The left hand goes on the top and your right hand makes an upside down L half way down the stick. To grip the hockey stick your left hand should be holding on to the stick tightly like your angry and your right hand should be loose. There are two ladies that teach us how to hold the hockey stick. They are called George and Rachel.



We take hockey lessons in the hall. In the hall we also play a game where we get into 2 groups and George has to call out the numbers 1 2 or 3. Then we have to run around the cones and run through the other teams goal and the other team has do the same. The hockey ball is in the middle of the hall. Last time the group that I was in won the game and it was really exciting.

Sonshine Ranch

On April the 1st Year 4 went to Sonshine Ranch.  
We rode on a horse. There was a park with monkey bars, swings, ropes, slides and stairs. There were lots of animals. Pigs, guinea pigs, goats, rabbits and chickens. We got to pat the guinea pigs and the rabbits.  There was a water confidence course, there was also a flying fox and a rope swing.

How was the Sun Made?

The sun is the biggest star in the galaxy. The sun is very big. The sun is very bright. The sun is so hot it burns oxygen and carbon and fizzles out. One day it will become a white dwarf. The sun heats our planet and brings life to everything on Earth. It is a big ball of gas.

Hi my name is Jessica Ropati. 
I'm 8 years old and I'm turning 9 this year. My favourite sports are soccer and basketball. I love the colours are black and red. I was born in Brisbane. I have 3 brothers and 5 sisters. I have 10 people in my family. 

I have 1 dog and 1 guinea pig. I have 4 parents. I have 8 grandparents. I love playing the drums. I love going to the pools. My birthday is on June 26th. My favouite subject is Maths.
