100 years ago would make it 1915. They taught subjects like maths, and reading/writing, pretty much what we do now, only less. The tables were wooden and they sat on wooden benches. There were no whiteboards and no chalkboards used. 
The room had no air conditioning and maybe 2 windows that opened. There were no movies, no VCR, no DVDs, no computers, no phones and their playground equipment was a swing made of rope and a tyre. High school was just starting so they had school buses. The classrooms look a lot different from our class rooms now.
