Dontay's Farewell

Last week on Friday it was Dontay's last day at day at Dawson Primary. At the end of the day Dontay's lovely mum brought cupcakes and chocolate for the whole class. We were really sad when he left. We wish him good luck at his new school. Hopefully he will visit our blog.

Our Fantastic Holiday

During the school holidays each person in room 12 had a fantastic time staying with their family or friends. In the holidays some people went all over the country and some stayed right where they live. Other people went places like Rainbows End, the pools, the zoo or went to other countries. We hope everyone had a great holiday.

Prince George

 Prince George is the son of Prince William and Princess Catherine. Prince George will be the King of England when Prince William dies. When Prince William's dad dies then Prince William will be the King. Prince William, Princess Catherine and their little baby George just visited New Zealand for ten days. They all must of had a great time on the plane when the were on their way. They had a sailing race and Princess Catherine won.

Our Wanted Art

In Room 12 we have just finished our wanted poster. First we ripped the outside of our posters. Secondly we wrote our names at the back of our poster. Thirdly we dyed it with tea bags to make it look really old.

After it dried we finished writing up our information and stuck the photos to the front.

Mrs Tupou, Mrs Schuster

This week we have Ms Tupou, Ms Schuster  learning  to be teachers in Room 12. The first time they came in Room 12 is on the 7th of April 2014. They are so nice they help us with our work. Room12 is going to be very sad when they leave on Friday. By Dontay, Logan and Viliami

Our Amazing Wet Land

Our school is in the process of developing something exciting called the "Wet Land". The wet land is a kind of pond that will have lots of different sea creatures. We will be in charge of the fish. We have to look after them by feeding them and keeping them safe. 

Beware Of The Wanted Teachers

We have been working on our  Wanted posters about teachers at Dawson School. Some teachers are wanted for doing the right thing at the wrong time.We made up nicknames for the  teachers like Superwoman and Crazy Mr P. We have been writing things like what they look like, where they hangout and other stuff like that. We also say what they are wanted for and the reward offered.

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

An Amazing Book

Today our teacher Miss Zeier took us all to the library. We all had to choose a book. I picked the most amazing book ever. It was awesome because it had action gadgets  My book was called Zac Power Test Drive

Dinosaurs At Dawson

During play time me and my friends heard a loud noise, it went thump, thump, thump. 

We didnt know what it was so we went to get a better look.We couldn't believe it, there was a huge dinosaur. We were all scared. It had huge teeth like swords. It had green skin like a crocodiles skin. Its skin was rough like the floor. It had two flaming red eyes. 

After awhile the dinosaur was walking right towards us. We were frightened  so we ran as fast as we could then we stopped. All of us had run out of breath. We all fainted, before we fainted we all said "good bye mum!

Poetry Time

Funny Fred is the most unusual pet you'll ever see. We created our own unusual Funny Fred. Our pet had a monkey head, elephant ears, a giraffes neck, zebra legs and a dinosaurs body.  Have a look at Papehia and Dontay's creations.

OUR UP COMING TRIP TO OMANA RESERVE

Next week Rooms 8,11,12 and 13 are going to Omana Reserve on Thursday.  We will be learning about really cool rock pools and we will be finding star fish and crabs. We would love to see lots more mums and dads to help on the trip. We hope there are nice trees to sit under and relax while we eat our lunch. We can't wait to go.

Fantastic Science

Room12 went to science class. We learnt about Scratch. On Scratch there are cartoon pictures and we went on google and dragged pictures onto the desktop. We made the pictures our background. Wait till you see our finished projects!

Book Parade

Today was the last day of Literacy Week. Lots of kids were dressed up as book characters. One person was dressed up as Willy Wonka and another one was Bob the Builder. There were heaps of different characters from books and movies. Even the teachers were dressed up and they were dancing to Gangnam Style. All the kids were dancing in the parade Look at the people from our cool class!

Super Paper Art

We drew cartoon pictures and outlined them with vivid. Then we glued strips of paper on our cartoon pictures. To make the background we got a piece of paper and scrunched it up. We layered it with crayon and dyed it.
