The Computer Bee in Science

In science Mr. P showed us a computer bee. It has buttons that control the bee. The buttons go left, right, up and down. It moves 10cm each time you move it forward. After that we played the bee game on the iPad. We had to use the buttons to move the bee on to the flower in one go.

Healthy Lunches

Healthy lunches are good for you so if you bring junk lunch ask your mum if you could bring a piece of fruit and a sandwich. This is the food you should not be bringing to school - chocolate, fizzy drinks, orange chips, lollipops. So make the right choices for your lunch.

A few days ago Room 12 were doing art circles and Papehia was the first one to finish.When the black circles are finished they have to be coloured with pastels and then the kids can move to the next step. Here Viliami is putting red dye around the circles.

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

Coming Up is... Dawson School's New Wetland

Mr Pattison is making a wetland at our school on the field. In our new wetland there will be ducks, fish, plants and shelter for the fish so they can't get eaten by the birds like seagulls. At the moment we are just digging the rocks out so we can put the pond and plants in.  We took  photos of the pond with Sivihiva, Owen and Logan.

The Huge Ferocious Dinosaur

One day my friend and I were walking in the forest. We were walking and walking, all of a sudden my friend and I saw a huge dinosaur. We were screaming and we ran and ran but then the dinosaur got very mad. He started to chase us towards the mountains. My friend and and I got away from the huge dinosaur. The dinosaur had grey skin and white horns. His horns were sharp and pointy. I was so lucky I got away.

The Disgusting Worms

In science we were learning about worms and how long they are. We were trying to find the head and the tail. The worms have lines that are called segments, segments are parts of their bodies. If you cut along one of the worm's lines it won't die because it still grows but if you cut the stomach it will die. We were taking pictures and videos. 

When Mr Pattison brought out the chicks we had to answer questions to get the chicks first. We went in groups and hopped in a circle to look at them.

Basketball

We are awesome at shooting hoops. 

We have learned heaps of awesome basketball skills, like dribbling  the ball,wrapping, cross overs and passing the ball through our legs.
