My Favourite Flowers

My favourite flowers are the tulip and  sunflowers because a tulip can be a lot of colours. You can eat the sunflower seeds and they taste nice. You can make soap with tulips and sunflowers and then your hands will smell very good, you should try it.

Ireland

During other cultures week we were learning about Ireland and St Patricks day. We made some leprechauns a d hats. We made jelly that was the colours of the Irish flag. We went in the hall  with our hats and Irish jelly. After that  we came in our classroom and ate our jellying took a photo with our teacher. We watched a leprechaun movie and some people helped my teacher to decorate our class.

Did you know the sun is a star not a planet? Some planets are near the sun. That is how we get our sunlight. Did you know some planets have more moons then another planets? Mars has 2 moons but Jupiter has over 50!

My Family

Hi, 
My name is Skye and I'm going to talk alot about my family. My brother Josh is 10 and turning 11 in September. His favourite  thing to play is Yogio with me. He loves cheese cake more then anything in the world.

My mum works at Nestle and likes to play hand ball with Josh. She likes liquorice a lot. my dad used to work at Mainstream but he works at a different job now. He likes playing Diablo on our xbox360. Dad likes healthy lollies and loves my sisters bear that she makes.

My sister Carissa works at a restaurant in Manukau City. She likes to shop for clothes and presents. She loves chocolate and playing with me a lot. My brother in law Jason works at a car job he gets back at midnight. He likes to play rugby and soccer and he loves ice blocks.

My little sister Graci likes Justin Bieber and Bruno mars. She likes to play teachers with her teddies. She loves pudding a lot. My brother KC spends his whole day at home playing on his xbox1. He likes carrot cake. He has his own fridge full of carrot cakes.

Life Jackets

At swimming we were learning about how to stay safe at sea and what to do if we fall in the water. We were practising what to do wearing a life jacket. Make sure you stay in a group so you can stay warm. What else can you do to keep safe in the water?

Term 2

This term is Term 2. We have now got four new people in our classroom. We had Scott and Tavita arrive from different schools. They are both very nice. They are different sizes but they are the same age. Scott is 8 and so is Tavita.      

Last week we had Curtis and Tevita join our class from Room 10. So now we have 2 children with the same name. We are going to call them Tavita T and Tevita E so they know which one we are talking to. 
All four new kids are boys. Welcome boys!

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

Sea Shore Safari

Our topic at the moment is Sea Shore Safari. We lernt lots of new things like if a star fish loses its arm it grows back. A horn shell makes lines in the sand and heaps more.  Have a look at Year 4's Seashore art! It's wonderful!

Family Fun Day

Last week we had Family Fun Day. We had lots of fun playing all the games. We went to the field to dance with the DJ. We had lots of different kinds of activities and lots of parents and teachers. Rita's favourite activity was the three legged race. Skye's favourite was dancing with the DJ.

Duffy Assembly

On Wednesday Room 12 went to a Duffy Show. I liked when the guy did break dancing. The boy had a book costume around him. I hope they can come again tomorrow because they were the best Duffy Show people that we have had at Dawson Primary School.
