Ireland

During other cultures week we were learning about Ireland and St Patricks day. We made some leprechauns a d hats. We made jelly that was the colours of the Irish flag. We went in the hall  with our hats and Irish jelly. After that  we came in our classroom and ate our jellying took a photo with our teacher. We watched a leprechaun movie and some people helped my teacher to decorate our class.

Soccer

This is us practising evading with the soccer coaches in the hall. We had to try and lose our partner and they had to follow you and stay as close as they can.

Life Jackets

At swimming we were learning about how to stay safe at sea and what to do if we fall in the water. We were practising what to do wearing a life jacket. Make sure you stay in a group so you can stay warm. What else can you do to keep safe in the water?

Dontay's Farewell

Last week on Friday it was Dontay's last day at day at Dawson Primary. At the end of the day Dontay's lovely mum brought cupcakes and chocolate for the whole class. We were really sad when he left. We wish him good luck at his new school. Hopefully he will visit our blog.

The Butterfly Garden

At Dawson Primary we have a butterfly garden, also we can see the butterflies at lunch time. I like butterflies that have orange and black wings. The butterfly garden is filled with beautiful butterflies. Room 12 know what a boy and a girl butterfly look like. Do you know how to tell the difference?

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

Dawson's Dinosaur

The Room 12 kids were sitting on the mat. Suddenly they heard a thump on the ground, so they ran out of the door and ran into the bush. The other class were on a trip and the dinosaur was fast. Some of the children were crying in the class. I kept on hiding in the bush until the dinosaur disappeared.

Music

In music we do singing and we use a glockenspiel to make music. We have been using a piece of paper to write music notes. Each day we learn different songs. We really like music.

Book Parade

Today was the last day of Literacy Week. Lots of kids were dressed up as book characters. One person was dressed up as Willy Wonka and another one was Bob the Builder. There were heaps of different characters from books and movies. Even the teachers were dressed up and they were dancing to Gangnam Style. All the kids were dancing in the parade Look at the people from our cool class!
