Our brand new games

Yesterday Miss Zeier got some new games. One is called cooking up sentences. It's a  very cool game to play and we got another game called Ant picnic. 

 These are our favourite reading games. They are teaching us heaps about antonyms, synonyms, nouns, verbs, adjectives and heaps more. What's your favourite game at school?

Life Jackets

At swimming we were learning about how to stay safe at sea and what to do if we fall in the water. We were practising what to do wearing a life jacket. Make sure you stay in a group so you can stay warm. What else can you do to keep safe in the water?

Facts About Bees

Bees are flying insects, they are related to wasps and ants. Bees use nectar, water and pollen to make honey. Also bees have an exo-skeleton and they add an enzyme to the nectar. An enzyme is a chemical made inside living things. Bees carry pollen in pollen sacks. When people have sore throats the honey helps your throat feel better and also honey kills bacteria. Bees are cool because they make sweet sweet honey.

Safety Around Beaches

At the beach do not go too far away from an adult. Be careful of smooth water between waves because something BAD might happen to you. You might get pulled in to a rip. If you get in a rip, don't try to swim back because you will be tired and be going nowhere. So instead follow the waves and try get to the side. Always swim between the flags.

Our Wanted Art

In Room 12 we have just finished our wanted poster. First we ripped the outside of our posters. Secondly we wrote our names at the back of our poster. Thirdly we dyed it with tea bags to make it look really old.

After it dried we finished writing up our information and stuck the photos to the front.

The Outside Classroom On The Field

In the outside classroom there is bark and plants, the classroom is made out of wood,it is a rectangular shape and it has logs in it that you can sit on. You can sit down and relax.

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

My Fantastic Book

My fantastic book is one of the Zac Power books because it has lots of information and it has lots of interesting words and facts. It also has cool pictures and stuff. What is your favourite book?

The Return Of The Dino

One normal day when we were playing on the playground a large bush started to shake. Everybody went quiet. A huge fierce monstrous looking animal popped out. 

It had thousands and thousands of razor blade teeth with green crinkly and bumpy skin. It had long sharp claws and a long long tail that was ready to whack. It was looking at me. I was totally freaked out. I was pretending to fight and then I went crazy all over the place. 

The dinosaur was chasing me everywhere and I was running out of energy. The dino was stomping hard and I looked around me and it had bit my leg. The Dino took over the world. I saw the dark night sky. I was going to die. I said "good bye family". The End.

Funny Fred is the most unusual pet you'll ever see. We created our own unusual Funny Fred. Our pet had a monkey head, elephant ears, a giraffes neck, zebra legs and a dinosaurs body.  Have a look at Papehia and Dontay's creations.

Book Parade

Today was the last day of Literacy Week. Lots of kids were dressed up as book characters. One person was dressed up as Willy Wonka and another one was Bob the Builder. There were heaps of different characters from books and movies. Even the teachers were dressed up and they were dancing to Gangnam Style. All the kids were dancing in the parade Look at the people from our cool class!
