Our Time at Tupu Library

Yesterday Room 12 walked down to Tupu Library. Once we arrived we walked on in and sat on the mat. We waited for awhile, when our tutors came in half the class on one side of the class was playing with rakau sticks and the other side of the class was playing with the maori club which is also known as a patu. They told us a little maori story.

The group that was playing with the patu had  a princess called princess who was played by Tiaana and the rakau group had a d prince played by Scott. Prince Scott was very hungry so he went down to the te awa (river) and got some ika (fish) from the the awa. Princess Tiaana came into the te awa they couldn't catch any ika because they forgot their patu so they had to jump in the the awa.

Once Prince Scott saw Princess Tiaana and they fell in love. So Prince Scott took Princess Tiaana to go and meet his family. One of Princess Tiaana's friends saw them so she ran back and said to the leader the other tribe has taken our princess. They were very mad, they trained the tribe up to get their princess back. There was going to be a war!

Our brand new games

Yesterday Miss Zeier got some new games. One is called cooking up sentences. It's a  very cool game to play and we got another game called Ant picnic.
These are our favourite reading games. They are teaching us heaps about antonyms, synonyms, nouns, verbs, adjectives and heaps more. What's your favourite game at school?

The Wetland

To make this video I wrote a script about the wetland. Then I recorded myself on the Tellagami app. I took a photo of the wetland and put it as my background. I played my video during our class assembly.

Bees

Bees are black and yellow. There is one queen bee, she is the biggest bee out of all of the bees. Do you know how bees sting? Okay so if you don't then let me tell you. So the bees have a little stinger on the tip of  their tale that can sting you and once a bee stings you it cant sting anyone again, it will die.

Our Asemmbly

Last week our class had our assembly. We showed our tellagami app, we shared dome of our dinosaur stories and pictures, then we sang a song called Toru Manu Iti which is Three Little Birds by Bob Marley. Then we showed the senior school a new jump jam hip  hop song called Clumsy. We weren't able to get any photos of our assembly. We hope everyone enjoyed it.
We were very proud of ourselves.

Soccer

Kryzlah
On Monday we played soccer in the hall. It was AMAZING. We had coaches. Their names were Coach Mika and Coach C. First the people with the bibs had to run around and be the truck. The other person, the trailer had to keep up with them. The next go they made it harder by putting a soccer ball in the game. Then they made it  EXTREMELY hard because the trailers were allowed to steal the ball. After that we were passing the ball. That was TERRIFIC. I cant wait to do soccer again.

Science

Every Tuesday Room 12 goes to science with Mr Pattison and he took our class to the computer suite  to learn how to do Scratch. Scratch is a kind of computer programme. You can learn about it with your family and your friends. With Scratch you can make a game or story.  You choose a photo for your background and there are heaps of different things that you can do. Take a look at some of ours on our scratch page.

The Sandpit

We have a new sandpit at school. All of the classes got a turn at playing in the sandpit. If you chuck sand at others that means your class is going to miss a turn. Our class was so good we got another turn. We were putting our legs under the sand to pretend we were mermaids. We were building sandcastles as well.

The Huge Dinosaur

One day my best  friend that lives next door asked if I wanted to go and play hide and go seek in the forest. I asked  my mum if I could go. "Yes" said mum, "but be very careful" "bla bla bla yes I know".

When I got there it was windy and stormy. My friend and I got so so so so cold that we made a little fire. We heard stomping in the forest so we ran away to hide. We looked back and there was a big large dinosaur running towards us. It looked hungry. It  was tall and as big as a house, I screamed for help but no one was around.

Luckily someone turned up. "We were just in time" said my friend. We just made it away from huge and scary dinosaur.

THE BABY CHICKS

Today Mr Pattison brought some little baby chicks into our class. They are really cute and Mr Pattison said they hatched last night. When they hatched Mr Pattison said they used their little beaks to crack open their eggs. I wonder how many will hatch. I can't wait until they grow bigger. Hopefully we will get a better picture soon!

What do you think their names should be?
