Amazing Lizards

Amazing Lizards can change their colour when they are angry and lizards can run 400 meters on water. They can use their tail to balance on water. When a lizard gets scared it runs across the water on its back legs and it doesn't sink into the water . The geckos can walk up side down along the ceiling without falling off. It has flat round toes, there are lots of tiny hairs. The hairs help the lizards to hold on. They can grip so well that the lizard can hang from the ceiling by one toe.

Soccer

This is us practising evading with the soccer coaches in the hall. We had to try and lose our partner and they had to follow you and stay as close as they can.

Science

Every Tuesday Room 12 goes to science with Mr Pattison and he took our class to the computer suite  to learn how to do Scratch. Scratch is a kind of computer programme. You can learn about it with your family and your friends. With Scratch you can make a game or story.  You choose a photo for your background and there are heaps of different things that you can do. Take a look at some of ours on our scratch page.

Senior Assembly

This afternoon we had our senior assembly. Room 17 shared some poems, sung some songs in Maori and did a cool dance. At the end they had a quiz and the kids could win Easter eggs. The teachers had a question too and Kryzlah helped Miss Zeier win an Easter egg! After it was finished they gave out the class cup and the winners were... Room 12!!!

The Scary Dinosaur

I ran because the dinosaur was chasing after me. I kept on running and I looked behind me. My friend Jack was not there. I had to keep running because the dinosaur was catching up to me and the dinosaur was going to eat me up. I didn't want to die. I was scared that I was going to die. I was getting tired because I was running too much. I looked at the back of me and the dinosaur was there so I screamed as loud as I could.

FMS

On Friday we did P.E. up in the hall. Room 12 were learning how to do a chest pass with our partners. We then played a game where we had to chest pass the ball to other people without dropping it. We were super good at playing that game. Coach Paris will be back next Friday. I wonder what we are going to learn next.

OUR UP COMING TRIP TO OMANA RESERVE

Next week Rooms 8,11,12 and 13 are going to Omana Reserve on Thursday.  We will be learning about really cool rock pools and we will be finding star fish and crabs. We would love to see lots more mums and dads to help on the trip. We hope there are nice trees to sit under and relax while we eat our lunch. We can't wait to go.

Duffy Assembly

On Wednesday Room 12 went to a Duffy Show. I liked when the guy did break dancing. The boy had a book costume around him. I hope they can come again tomorrow because they were the best Duffy Show people that we have had at Dawson Primary School.
